New Artwork!

For A Moment
14in x 11in
colored pencil on paper
copyright Rose Welty

A few months ago I took my sons out to a nearby lake for an afternoon. We spent a fair bit of time just walking along the water, looking at rocks, the water, and the trees. When I got home and found this picture I was struck by how my son is every day drawing closer to the man he will become. I can already see so much of that man - he's still a boy, but not for long. In some ways, it's sad to know the little boy is leaving, but it's also a happy feeling to know he's growing up - all in all, cherish each moment.

I'm going to give this a few more days and possibly a few more tweaks. One of my largest CP pieces - I quite like this size.

A Place to Park, colored pencil drawing

A Place to Park
7in x 5in
colored pencil on paper

$45

When I saw the latest painting challenge over at Daily Paintworks, I just couldn't resist that wall. There is something terribly enchanting about light walls with dark windows and doors!

It's Friday, the pizza dough is rising for tonight's pizza and movie night, and so I'm back to the drawing board on my next adventure.

A Place to Park is now available for sale. You can purchase it directly from me. It is matted to 8in x 10in and is ready for you to frame:
If you have any questions, please check my FAQs page or email me (address on about page). If you live locally, I will deliver your artwork to you free of charge. Otherwise, a $5 fee will be added to ship the artwork to you.

Check In and Newsletter

Work in Progress
copyright Rose Welty

Just thought I'd pop in and let you see what I've been working on. I am hoping to finish this in the next few days. We've had a computer give up the ghost so I have to share - which may mean that progress is delayed. No worries though, it'll get done.

I also wanted to mention that I am starting up the newsletter again. Topics will include: ideas on how to enjoy art in your every day life, interesting art history tidbits to amuse your friends, and also anything newsworthy happening in my studio. Interested? There's a sign up box in the right-hand column.
