Wise Words to the Artist from A. A. Milne

We all have days/seasons in life (art) when it all just seems too much.

This is one to remember on those days:

Promise me you'll always remember: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

-- Christopher Robin to Pooh

Here’s how I apply that wisdom to my artistic journey:

I might be rejected. Well, the brave must learn to face rejection. Yes, you risk failure, but you also risk success. It wouldn’t be bravery (or success!) if you didn’t have to risk something that mattered.

It’s hard. Well, yes, good art is hard work. If it wasn’t, everyone would do it and no one would value it. So, dig deeper and press ahead.

It’s lonely. Well, yes, not everyone “gets” what you do. Does it matter though? You get what you do, you know why you do this, you know what it means to you, maybe that is enough.

Great quote!
My favourite "pick-me-up" book is by Dr Seuss - "Oh the Places You will Go!"
Pretty flower - wonderful colours.
