August Goals Review

My first art business card (I also got some stickers)

This a review of the goals I set for July/August and whether or not I achieved them:

Business
  • Think about what I want to achieve by the end of the year - I plan on having some prints on sale as cards by the end of the year. As well, I hope to be selling on eBay early next year.
Research
  • Color study - I've done color charts in oil and purchased Albers classic book.
  • Reading - I've done a load of reading on oil painting. I've also done more practical research in painting :D.
Artwork
  • Claybord - I did do some experimenting with it and like it for graphite.
  • Sketching - Yes, I've done lots of that.
  • Focus on Process - Yes, I've found a working method that works for me and I really like it. It has become an old friend.
  • Oil Painting (three paintings a week) - Yes, this has been happening. This week has been a little different as I had a hard deadline on a graphite project. That is now finished, so I get to return to painting again! :D
More about September tomorrow!

Rose - I'd highly recommend that you also need to buy your domain name www.rosewelty.com for your website so you can make it your own (and lose the sitekreator prefix).

There's a tutorial telling you how to do it.

Thanks Katherine, I actually have rosewelty.com, I just haven't ponied up for the monthly fee to redirect there. Hopefully the business plans will bear fruit and I can afford the monthly fee.

Rose, I don't know who you bought your domain name from, but I know with GoDaddy you can forward an address for free. So my domain www.stacyrowan.com sends people to my blog. That way I can have an easy web address on my business cards even though I don't have a regular website yet. You might want to see if you can do the same thing.

Stacy, I do use GoDaddy but I have to upgrade my sitekreator account to something more than free for it to work. It's interesting what you've done though, I hadn't thought about that, I'll have to try it.
