More Work on Cloth

Waterhouse wasn't the only one who could paint cloth. Here is a study done from Boilly's A Painter's Studio. (The colors and lighting in this painting remind me of Sargent.) I'm guessing that no one painted in gowns like that, but it does make for a lovely piece of art. There is commentary about this piece and what it is saying about women and art, but I was just looking to capture the folds and forms of the gown.

Have a great weekend. I hope to be posting as usual next week, but it is Spring break around here so I may not be as regular.
