Strike a Pose

Strike A Pose
colored pencil on paper
7in x 5in

I remember photographing this bird. He was very agreeable to having his photo taken. He would pose for a bit, turn towards me, turn back and strike a new pose and then hold it. We did this several times. It was quite refreshing - as most birds are skittish.

Strike A Pose is matted to 8in x 10in and ready for framing. You can purchase it directly from me using the Paypal button below.

Getting Back

work in progress
I've been very busy with things around the home and life lately, but I think I've just about fought all the fires and can go back to maintenance mode on them. So, I'm back to devoting more time to art.

I decided to jump in with this bird I found on one of my photo shoots at a local park several months ago. I can hear birds outside right now, singing away - yay! that means it's time for another photo shoot. But perhaps I'll finish this guy first. ;-)

The Noisy Neighbor, colored pencil drawing

This little fellow is my neighbor. In fact, he's my noisiest neighbor. He's lively, jumping to and fro - he seems to like the rail near the stairs on my deck. I've even caught him poking his head into my mint pot.

American Robin, colored pencil on paper

American Robin
9in x 13in

Today is a bright sunny day - just gorgeous with it's inviting light and yet still on the cool side. When I started this piece spring was far younger - the days were still gray, nothing had really bloomed and we were still all wearing heavy coats. It was, just in that "gray" time, that American Robins seemed to flood our neighborhood. Their warm colored chests stood out so brightly in all the gray - small promises of the end of winter.

That same redbud tree is now changing from it's glorious purple blooms to bright green leaves - how quickly the landscape changes.
