One of my commandos has caught a tummy bug. Here he is Saturday morning watching a little TV. I was trying out
Barbara Bradley's method of not using guidelines while sketching. I'm not sure I've ever seen that advocated before. Amazon lists
another book by her, which I imagine is pretty much the same book, it's just not the one I have.

Poor guy! Hope he feels better soon. I like your sketch - is it just defining value shapes then? Now that I think about it, I rarely use guidelines when I sketch, I just begin scribbling in shapes. When I do try to draw with lines - such as a contour drawing, I often forget to put in any guiding marks or lines, usually much to my disappointment.
Well, she does talk about shapes, but actually she talks about lines as well. As I read it, it was more about not trying to "box it in" first - she was more for freedom of expressive movements. Rather surprising as she was talking about the figure, where proportions can go so wonky so easily.
Very cool technique --- I haven't tried it yet. Hope the tummy bug is gone quickly and not caught by others.
(Jeremy) Why dId'T you color IT? I Love the Baby so much. It Looks Like me. Is it me?
