Lily and New Project

The above sketch is the first in my new black pocket cahier moleskine. I was rather inspired by Jeanette and Jeanne's participation in The Sketchbook Project. I thought hard about joining in, but decided that I didn't have time - which turned out to be true, I never would have finished it.

But, I still like the idea. I am thinking of filling this with flower sketches...

Filling up your book with flowers is a wonderful idea! Each time you post a new drawing, I see improvement in the dark to light values. Great work!

I really like this sketch Rose, especially the petals which we see the backs of. I think a sketchbook full of flowers would be lovely to look at.

Lovely sketch Rose. Yes, dedicating a theme to a sketchbook can be interesting. I have various sketchbooks, some done all in red pen for instance, or some of just animals. Its fun to go back over them and remember the subjects.

You know my stories on sketching. I have started many books and have finally finished a few since I started the Scavenger Hunts on wetcanvas. Nice drawing, too.

What a great idea. I always have good intentions of doing regular sketching, but have yet to fill a sketchbook with anything more than value sketches for my paintings. Once again, you have inspired me to dig out my moleskine.
