A Peek Behind the Curtain

I thought I'd show you a bit of how I arrive at a painting.
First, I cruised the streets of Edinburgh and found this.
Then I tried out a few thumbnails and made some color notes:



Thirdly, I did a study, just from the thumbnail and color notes:



I'll definitely give this one more go, perhaps adding a bit of burnt sienna to it.
