This is what happens when you do a quick sketch and don't pay much attention, you get Bob Hope's eyes and nose with a Stan Laurel chin stuck on the bottom! Yikes! Ah well, the point of this exercise was to practice with the CPs in a new way and work on skin tones.OK, you can stop laughing now. Really, I mean it! :D
And, I should say, this was done after Norman Rockwell's portrait of Bob Hope.
I'm not laughing Rose! I think you did great! The skin tones are nice and you've got a good range of values. Plus you did that in a couple of days. My portraits take me way too long! :)
ReplyDeleteYour title did it for me!
ReplyDeleteTry greens when doing skin - they're absolutely ace for getting tones right!
Kasie, this is just a teeny 5 x 7 practice piece. Your portraits may take a long time, but they are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Katherine, I'll give the greens a go next time.
he's fun :D and as for those self doubts you talked about earlier - we all have them :( - keep on working and they'll go away
ReplyDeleteVivien, thanks for stopping by and for the encouragement! I'm hopelessly addicted to art-making, I'll keep at it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it turned out nice! I kind of like the different chin...adds to the humor of Bob Hope! :)
