As Promised

Here is that horrendous copy of Raeburn's Miss Eleanor Urquhart.

What I learned:
  • Working in miniature size (2.5x3.5 inches) is much nicer for colored pencils
  • Juxtaposition of colors is significant (that dress looked incredibly bad, until it had a background)
  • For whites, color in the area with some of your main colors, then erase it
  • Throwing on lines to suggest a background is an artform
  • Using the same colors all over a work creates unity (OK, I knew that already, but I just saw it very clearly in his work)
Onto to more learning...
